Great Southern Wood Preserving, Incorporated is the nation's largest distributor of pressure treated pine. Founded in 1970 in Abbeville, Alabama, Great Southern is perhaps best known for producing YellaWood® brand pressure treated pine and it's famous 'yellow end tag'. This distinctive yellow tag has become the choice of contractors and homeowners alike. From pressure treated fence products, columns, deck specialties, and kiln-dried after treatment (KDAT) products, YellaWood® is the brand of choice for outdoor building. The company operates 14 plants with distribution coverage that stretches from the Florida Keys to Texas to Canada, an area that includes all or parts of 27 states and the District of Columbia, as well as much of the Caribbean and Latin America, and part of the European Union, Mediterranean region and China. These facilities service Do-It-Yourself retail home centers, pro dealers and other retail building-related and industrial segments.
