Now hiring for the position of Dispatcher at our Portland Outlet location!

GENERAL SUMMARY: Administers vehicle dispatch based on work plan and store needs. Manages day-to-day switching and clean-up functions for Attended Donation Center (ADC) sites and designated stores. Ensure proper driver staffing and equipment utilization. Use a computerized dispatch system including GPS tracking and order tracking.

Essential Functions:

--Foster and demonstrate a positive team environment.

--Act as a liaison for your department by providing excellent customer service to all internal and external customers.

--Maintain rapport with site hosts, vendors and supported stores to ensure quality service and support.

--Attend and conduct safety and shift meetings regularly.

--Effectively manage personnel, fiscal and logistical resources based on mission requirements.

--Use a computerized dispatch system including GPS tracking and order tracking.

--Schedule clean-ups, site switches, store support, and dock work based on management guidance and operational/seasonal trends in the most efficient manner possible.

--Maintain production reports on a daily, weekly and monthly basis as requested.

--Administer vehicle dispatch based on work plan and store needs.

--Coordinate with stores, vendors and ADC personnel to plan resource moves.

--Prepare and maintain all necessary reports and records in conjunction with daily operations.

--Review daily vehicle inspection reports and arrange to have defects repaired as soon as possible.

--Coordinate with the Equipment Maintenance Manager and review quality of vendor work upon completion.

--Actively supports the Transportation Manager by interviewing, training and mentoring Driver candidates.

--Direct, coach and evaluate job performance of drivers and dock personnel where necessary.

--Responsible for timely intervention, discipline and appropriate documentation for all employees.

--Develop and implement work plan and schedules.

--Approve vacation, schedule modifications and non-standard requests.

--Monitor sick leave, overtime, wage, and salary issues.

--Ensure driver compliance with CDL licensing and medical certification requirements.

--Direct the safety and security efforts for personnel and facilities under your control, including key and lock control.

--Responsible for management of donated goods under your control.

Incidental Functions:

--Coordinate equipment replacement and repairs as needed.

--Contact vendors, prepare proposals and submit purchase orders to support operational needs in the absence of the Equipment Maintenance Manager or in an emergency situation.

--Perform miscellaneous duties, as assigned.

Job Requirements

--Must be 18 years of age or older.

--Must be able to function independently in a work setting.

--Must have a valid driver’s license which reflects a driving record that meets GICW standards.

--Tractor trailer and general warehouse equipment knowledge.

--Knowledge of DOT equipment maintenance requirements.

--General knowledge and understanding of DOT regulations regarding accident reporting, drug testing, and driver medical certification.


POSITIONS SUPERVISED: Tractor Driver

WORKING CONDITIONS:

--Work is performed in a warehouse office setting with limited outdoor tasks.

--High adaptability required: Work environment usually hectic (fast paced) with irregular short deadlines and a limited number of critical or unusual situations.
