Route Manager

Job Description

SUMMARY:
This position will be responsible for supporting the assigned Account Manager or store in maintaining and growing sales with an assigned group of customers. The Route Manager will deliver parts from the store to customers, pick up merchandise being returned with, service customer’s needs and grow account’s base business by selling additional products and services.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Work with Account Manager or Store Manager to inquire and address customer’s needs and issues to increase sales and margin on assigned accounts.
•Assist in identifying new customers and providing leads to the Account Manager or Store Manager.
•Initiate daily outbound sales phone calls and in-person sales calls to assigned accounts.
•Handle inbound sales calls, as needed.
•Utilize marketing materials to increase sales.
•Perform scheduled route deliveries.
•Perform follow-up customer visits on scheduled routes.
•Stage loading of trucks; load and/or unload trucks, as needed.
•Deliver and pickup parts to the customer while maintaining appropriate paperwork.
•Collect money from customers and record transactions on customer receipt, as needed.
•Generate and maintain appropriate paperwork for all orders, returns/warranties, deliveries, etc.
•Unpack and stock received parts and store in the appropriate areas.
•Perform other duties as needed.

•Maintains Perspective: Able to remain calm under difficult circumstances; demonstrate emotional control; present a stable demeanor to others; behave consistently and predictably over time.
•Attention to Detail: Able to follow detailed guidelines; ensure accuracy of data and documentation; maintain a system of records; be attentive and prepared in a high risk setting.
•Oral Communication: Able to communicate clearly with diplomacy and tact, especially concerning difficult and sensitive issues when dealing with the needs, problems and/or concerns of customers and co-workers; Ability to verbally communicate with others to convey information effectively.

•Technical Competencies:
•Good verbal and written communication skills.
•Extensive knowledge of heavy duty truck parts.
•Basic Microsoft Office and computer skills.

EDUCATION:
•A High School Diploma or equivalent.
•Associate’s degree or post-high school technical degree or certification preferred.

EXPERIENCE:
•One year related work experience required.
•Heavy duty industry experience preferred.
•Valid driver’s license with good driving record.
•Ability to operate power industrial equipment (e.g. fork lifts, etc.) preferred.
