Job Title: Supply Chain Planner

Location: Research Triangle, NC 27709

Overview:

  • The incumbent is responsible for the working in team environment to ensure Customer Satisfaction while meeting the Business Objectives.


Required Knowledge and Experience:
  • 5 years previous experience in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Engineering, or related experience.
  • Demonstrated strong communications skills both within and outside of immediate team.
  • Leadership of small teams in a production environment.
  • Ability to work under time pressure and set the proper priorities.
  • Effective working relationships with key sales staff and customers.
  • Lean Experience a plus.


Principal Responsibilities :
  • Utilize SAP tools to be able to Plan Daily Production, Purchase Raw Materials, and manage Truck and Rail Fleet logistics.
  • Candidate will start by schedule inbound and out bound Rail and Trucks to customers.
  • After proficiency is gained, the candidate may move to a Buyer / Planning role, ensuring daily production is scheduled and purchasing of Raw Materials to support the production plan completed.
  • Daily collaboration with operations to ensure the Supply Plan is communicated efficiently.
  • Daily Collaboration with Customer Care Representatives to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Crosstrain and perform functions related to Site Logistics, production demand planning, and Raw Material Purchasing.
  • Embraces Safety as a core value for all, encouraging teammates to excel in Operational Discipline and Excellence.
  • Maximize operational efficiency, quality and reliability through use of Lean Tools.


Nature and Scope:
  • The Supply Chain Planner may not report directly into the manufacturing but must be a key team member of that unit to ensure sustainable production.
  • This position has a high degree of autonomy in making decisions regarding all aspects of the production process to the goal of high reliability and lowest cost, but wisely includes others in their decision-making processes.
  • Internal and external relationships
  • The incumbent is co-leader of the Daily Operations Team meetings with the other scheduler.
  • Daily interaction with cross section of the Operations team, including Process Engineers, Operations Manager, Shift Group Leaders, Operators, Plant Logistics Team, 3PL, Warehouse team, Maintenance team, and the Quality & Continuous Improvement team.
  • The incumbent distributes the daily plan to all parties, communicating changes or critical actions required to keep on plan.
  • Daily contact with transportation planning and carriers regarding business needs for bulk shipments.
  • Frequent interaction with Shift Group Leaders and Operations Manager regarding production goals, performance, priorities, etc.
  • Supervisory Responsibilities: No direct supervisory responsibilities, but the incumbent is expected to lead through influence and example, especially guiding Shift Group Leaders and Operators.


Requirements:
  • Recent experience in Supply Chain Logistics directly supporting Order Management.
  • Advanced/Intermediate experience with MRP Procurement
  • Recent experience Intermediate/advanced SAP experience (or similar order processing software)
  • Intermediate/advanced MS Excel experience (i.e. advanced formulas, v-lookup's, and pivot tables)
  • Ability to work under time pressure and set the proper priorities.
  • Must be able to give specific examples of experience managing multiple priorities on an ongoing basis.
  • Must be local to RTP area or within commutable distance. May initially work remotely but may need to come onsite for AdHoc meetings in RTP as needed.


Objective:
  • Manage supply chain logistics for raw materials by ensuring that materials get to the plant/sites within specific compliance parameters according to critical deadlines and moving targets.


Duties:
  • Will use SAP tools to Plan Daily Production
  • Will Purchase Raw Materials to support the production plan
  • Will strategically coordinate inbound/outbound Truck and Rail Fleet logistics
  • Demand Planning
  • Daily collaboration with operations teams to ensure the Supply Plan is communicated efficiently
  • Daily Collaboration with Customer Care Representatives to keep a pulse on customer satisfaction and any issues
  • Execute a high volume of SAP order management transactions while demonstrating above average ability to multi-task and manage priorities.
  • Ensure that return orders are processed on time and with careful accuracy by creation of stock transfer orders Investigate third party warehouse inventory discrepancies and provide operational support for the warehouse inventory reconciliation process
  • Process freight invoices that have been rejected from third party audit while carefully adhering to timeline expectations
  • Investigate root causes for freight invoice errors to eliminate future rejections and support improvement of the overall process
  • Ensure accurate inventory at third party warehouses and bulk terminals
  • Support external service providers to ensure high quality deliveries to customers
